Role Overview:

The Regular Part-Time Medical Receptionist will act as the initial contact for patients and visitors at our clinic. This position entails managing front office operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and efficiently handling administrative duties to maintain an organized and welcoming environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, managing inquiries in person or over the phone.
  • Document patient arrivals and check-in processes accurately using the Practice Management System (EMR).
  • Confirm patient identities through verification of name and date of birth and create new accounts when necessary.
  • Prepare required paperwork ahead of patient appointments and maintain organized records.
  • Follow up with patients who miss appointments to reschedule and document these interactions appropriately.
  • Enhance patient satisfaction by efficiently coordinating appointments and addressing patient inquiries.
  • Respond timely to patient concerns, exercising professional judgment.
  • Update patient information in the system and confirm insurance eligibility effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Collect patient copays and outstanding balances during the check-in and check-out process.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality with strict adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to team efforts in achieving shared goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in every patient interaction.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, providers, and team members.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred (1 year).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
