House Manager at Abiding Path, LLC, you'll be a key leader, guiding the day-to-day operations of our therapeutic group home. You'll work closely with the Administrator to ensure a nurturing, family-like atmosphere where youth, families, and our team can thrive. Your leadership will directly impact the quality of care and the success of our programs.
About Abiding Path, LLC Abiding Path, LLC is a dedicated mental health residential facility for youth. We provide a supportive, home-like environment where young individuals receive comprehensive care to develop essential life skills, manage their mental health, and prepare for independent and productive living.
Responsibilities and Duties The House Manager oversees the daily operations of the group home, providing leadership, direct supervision, and hands-on support. This role is
full time to ensure consistent program delivery and a positive living environment.
- Operational Leadership & Program Oversight:
- Directly manage daily home operations, acting as a primary assistant to the Administrator.
- Ensure all programs and services align with Abiding Path, LLC's mission and strategic priorities.
- Oversee administrative duties related to payroll, personnel, finance, and budget.
- Manage and reconcile residents' personal funds monthly, sending quarterly statements to parents/guardians.
- Plan and oversee engaging activities for residents, promoting skill development and well-being.
- Ensure a healthy, positive, and clean living environment for all youth.
- Develop and oversee the group home's safety committee, ensuring all safety standards are met.
- Manage contracts for outside services and ensure all agreements are upheld.
- Update facility forms and website content as needed.
- Staff Supervision & Development:
- Hire and onboard qualified Direct Care Staff (Paraprofessionals) and other applicable personnel.
- Supervise and schedule staff to ensure proper coverage and fill in for shifts when necessary.
- Complete 90-day and annual performance evaluations for all supervised staff.
- Conduct and assist with new hire and ongoing staff training to enhance skills and ensure compliance.
- Client Support & Crisis Management:
- Meet with individual residents as needed to discuss concerns and offer support.
- Assist residents in developing appropriate social and life skills, both within the home and in the community.
- Consistently follow individual treatment plans and be able to clearly explain them.
- Handle emergency situations effectively, utilizing crisis interventions as necessary, in line with Abiding Path, LLC policies.
- Maintain an active on-call status to address emergent needs of the facility.
- Administrative & Reporting:
- Prepare meeting agendas and supporting materials for the Board of Directors.
- Complete Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) and other required reporting documentation quarterly.
- Perform essential administrative tasks as assigned by the Administrator.
- Answer telephones and promptly return calls.
- Actively attend all mandatory staff meetings and required training.
Day-to-Day Activities Your day at Abiding Path, LLC will be dynamic and impactful. You'll regularly interact with staff and residents, providing guidance, addressing concerns, and ensuring smooth operations. You'll balance direct client support with administrative tasks like scheduling, payroll oversight, and updating records. Expect to lead staff meetings, review performance, and be on-call to manage any urgent situations. You'll serve as a crucial link between the Director, staff, and residents, fostering a safe and empowering environment.
Reporting Structure The House Manager reports directly to the
Qualified Professional or
Director of Abiding Path, LLC. This position is central to the operational success and therapeutic mission of our residential facility, ensuring high-quality care and compliance.
Qualifications Minimum Education Requirements: Highschool Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 3 years working with youth or adolescents. (Bachelor’s Degree Preferred but can be substituted with proof of experience)
To be successful as a House Manager at Abiding Path, LLC, candidates must meet the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) requirements for an
Associate Professional (AP) , which includes one of the following:
- Master's degree in a human service field with less than one year of full-time, post-graduate experience in mental health support.
- Bachelor's degree in a human service field with less than two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree experience in mental health with youth in a support setting.
- Bachelor's degree in a field other than human services with less than four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree experience in mental health with youth in a support setting.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in North Carolina with less than four years of full-time experience in mental health with youth in a support setting.
Additional Required Qualifications: - Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Administrative Experience: Proven experience in administrative work.
- Computer Skills: Efficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
- Driving: Valid North Carolina Driver's License with an excellent driving record, and current auto insurance. Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a criminal background clearance (BCI Check).
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Bookkeeping & Payroll: Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate bookkeeping and manage payroll functions.
Preferred Qualifications: - Post-secondary coursework in Human Services.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
Note: This position may be combined with the
Associate Professional (AP) position for qualifying individuals, based on the specific needs of Abiding Path, LLC and relevant NC DHHS regulations.
