Freelance 3D Modeler – Visual Merchandising + Planograms (SketchUp)

Location: El Segundo, CA (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)

Client: Leading U.S. Cosmetics Brand

Duration: 12 Weeks (Full-Time Contract)

Start: ASAP

Availability: Full 12-week commitment, no planned time off

We’re looking for a freelance 3D Modeler with strong SketchUp skills to support our team in building and updating retail fixture modules for a top U.S. cosmetics brand. This role is all about bringing planograms (POGs) to life through accurate, clean 3D models for internal visual merchandising reviews and showroom displays.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and update 3D models of store fixtures in SketchUp based on provided POGs
• Translate planograms into visual merchandising-ready showroom layouts
• Create clean, client-facing renderings (V-Ray experience is a bonus, not a requirement)
• Work on 35+ planogram-based fixture updates over the 12-week project
• Collaborate with the visual merchandising team on weekly priorities and deadlines

You’re a Good Fit If You:

• Are proficient in SketchUp and can build organized, accurate models quickly
• Have worked with POGs and understand visual merchandising workflows
• Have experience in cosmetics, retail, or branded environments
• Can work onsite in El Segundo 3 days/week , remote 2 days/week
• Are available full-time for the full 12-week project (no breaks or vacations)

This is a great opportunity to support a high-visibility cosmetics project, working behind the scenes to bring POGs to life in 3D for a national retail rollout.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Expert proficiency in SketchUp and V-Ray
• Prior experience modeling retail fixtures (beauty or CPG preferred)
• Ability to interpret and execute detailed planograms (POGs)
• Strong attention to technical accuracy and visual polish
• Available to work onsite in El Segundo 3 days per week
