Job Description

System One is actively seeking an Energy Efficiency Engineer (remote) for a long-term contract position.

The Engineer will work within the demand side management portion of the industry, helping customers save energy in a regulated utility space.

Responsibilities:
  • Working with technical resource manuals, creating standard rebate programs and offerings, providing technical guidance to program managers, and supporting new initiatives like smart meter disaggregation projects.
  • Provide technical consulting, develop new products and services, and collaborate extensively with various internal and external partners.
  • Will be supporting a team within the Customer Energy and Transformation Systems group, collaborating with program managers, marketing assistants, trade partners, customers, and regulatory and policy teams.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Desk work supporting regulatory processes, maintaining program structures, consulting on technical aspects of new services, using Excel and possibly Salesforce.
  • Collaboration with program managers, marketing assistants, trade partners, customers, and regulators.
Junior Engineer Requirements:
  • Engineering degree from an ABET accredited school.
  • Entry-level; 0-3 years of professional experience preferred.
  • Experience in building sciences, energy efficiency, or regulated utilities.
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
  • Excel proficiency.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce (preferred but trainable).
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work well with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Effective communication.
  • Problem solving abilities.
Preferred skills, not required:
  • Experience with demand side management (DSM).
  • Experience with HVAC design or energy auditing.
  • Interest in clean energy and carbon reduction.
Project Location: remote
Contract Duration: 12-Months
Hourly Pay Rate: $30-35/hr
