Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Certified Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) for a 13-week contract at Providence Health and Services MSP. This role requires orthopedic surgical experience and flexibility to float between departments and affiliated facilities as needed. Ideal candidates are highly proficient in operating room protocols, surgical instrumentation, and multiple specialties including ortho, neuro, general, GYN, vascular, urology, ENT, and robotics.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating field for scheduled and emergency surgical procedures

• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating needs throughout the surgery

• Perform surgical counts, label specimens, and adhere to universal time-out protocols

• Operate and maintain robotic surgical systems including Mako and Da Vinci platforms

• Maintain proper functioning of case carts, surgical instruments, and crash carts

• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards, including sharps and laser safety

• Float to other departments or partner facilities as required

• Participate in on-call and weekend rotation as assigned

Key Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of recent operating room CST experience

• Orthopedic Surgery Experience: Required

• Travel Experience: Not required (First-time travelers welcome)

• Charting System: Epic Required

• Certifications:

  • Required: BLS

  • Preferred: NBSTSA (Certified Surgical Technologist)

Qualifications

Education:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Experience:
At least 1.5 years of recent CST experience, with demonstrated proficiency in orthopedic procedures and other surgical specialties

License/Certification:
Active BLS certification
NBSTSA certification preferred
