This role involves establishing and leading the Cloud Architecture practice for the State of Missouri. The successful candidate will manage a team, architect cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, and GCP, and ensure alignment with security, performance, and cost optimization goals. This position requires extensive experience in cloud technologies, infrastructure as code, security best practices, and team mentorship.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure aligned with organizational goals.
- Build and configure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Support agencies in cloud adoption and migration.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, networking, database, applications).
- Provide guidance on cloud-native tools, RBAC, tagging, and logging/monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise governance and standards (NIST 800-53, data privacy regulations).
- Mentor and manage an existing cloud team.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 6+ years of cloud experience (AWS, Cloud Frameworks, Cloud pattern architecture).
- Experience with standard cloud platforms (Aurora, Elastic Beanstalk, PaaS, IaaS, Cloud Database technologies).
- Proficiency in Ansible and Kubernetes.
- Ability to debate technologies and identify design flaws.
- Experience architecting in a DevOps environment and operations.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP security tools (Security Hub, Azure Security Center, GCP Security Command Center).
- Strong SIEM and cloud-native security tool knowledge.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and policy-as-code tools.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with State of Missouri IT systems (security, cloud services, infrastructure).
- Experience managing large-scale development, maintenance, and operations projects.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, CISSP, or CCSP.
