Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company's **Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS)** business unit has an exciting opportunity for an **Associate Assembler** to join our dynamic team in **Sylmar, CA.** Spectrolab is the world's leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems, with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolab's state-of-the-art space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earth's orbit, as well as the International Space Station. **Position Responsibilities:** + Performs simple production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, equipment and accessories using manual operations + Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements. + Understands wiring and gauges including basic knowledge of reading drawling's and schematics **Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):** + Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment + Ability to read and interpret system prints and schematics + Experience soldering and terminating wiring + Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis **Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):** + 1+ years' experience in wire stripping, soldering and welding + Experience in J-STD-001 Soldering **Work Location:** This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
